Chapter 19 includes the City of Houston’s Floodplain Ordinance. The City adopted amendments to Chapter 19 in April 2018.
Chapter 19 Guidelines are a companion to the Floodplain Ordinance. The Guidelines establish procedures for implementing the ordinance.
Chapter 19 will become effective on September 1, 2018. The Floodplain Management Office will review any plans submitted for review prior to September 1 under the previous (2008) version of the floodplain ordinance.
