Imelda Assistance Fund

ABOUT THE FUND

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo have established the Imelda Assistance Fund to meet the needs of those who have suffered damage during Tropical Storm Imelda and the flooding that followed. Learn more: https://ghcf.org/imelda/

The Imelda Assistance Fund is set up to take internet donations at this time. Community leaders will determine the disbursement of funds in the near future.

The effort between Mayor Turner and Judge Hidalgo is in cooperation with the Greater Houston Community Foundation (GHCF), an organization with deep knowledge of the community and expertise in disaster relief charitable work. GHCF administered the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund (HHRF) on behalf of the City of Houston and Harris County after Hurricane Harvey struck the region in August 2017.

The first-round of Imelda Fund grants were announced Nov. 26 and focus on home stabilization, emergency financial assistance, and housing counseling for Houston and Harris County's most vulnerable populations. Learn more: http://bit.ly/2QYFi5M
