First Round of Debris Cleanup Completed

The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department has completed the first round of debris collection across Houston.  Since August 30th, SWM crews have diligently worked to help clear debris from affected areas.  The second pass will continue through December 1st, and residents should properly separate their debris. Debris Removal from Private Property

The City of Houston Solid Waste Management Department is working with FEMA to begin the process of removing debris from some private property in the City.  Pending a FEMA inspection, and the City’s receiving a fully executed right of entry and indemnification agreement (signed by each individual property owner), City crews can and will begin removing Hurricane Harvey related debris in approved areas.

When to Call 2-1-1 and 3-1-1

As Houston residents continue the process of recovering from Harvey, it’s important to know who to call to access services, ask for assistance, and report issues with City services.

The United Way 2-1-1 Helpline helps connect Houstonians with social services and disaster recovery resources, such as: housing, food assistance, help with rebuilding, etc.

The Houston 3-1-1 Help and Information line is used to connect Houstonians with City-operated services, such as trash pickup, street repairs, water service issues, drainage issues, and others. for a full list of service requests, visit
